The Snow Arrives

As I finished writing last night’s post, I mentioned it had begun to snow.  Well, by the time it had stopped, we had gotten about two and a half inches of snow.  To people who live in the north, that amount of snow isn’t a big deal.  To those of us in the South, this kind of weather can be crippling since, as a whole, this part of the country has so little experience with this kind of event.  But, we are certainly learning to cope this year!

When I woke up this morning and looked out the window, my first thought when I saw all the snow was to go back to bed, but I soon decided I couldn’t pass up this fantastic opportunity.  I headed back to the covered bridge in Burns Park that I shot last weekend because I thought the color of the bridge would contrast nicely with the snow.  Because the roads were covered with snow and ice, what is normally a 20 minute drive turned into an hour drive as I began to question my sanity.  But when I got to the location, I was glad I had ventured out.  The beauty and serenity of the scene was astounding!
