I shot this image several years ago on a trip to the Smoky Mountains. As I was driving along Highway 441, I stopped at a small pullout along the road and began photographing the river and overhanging trees. Not quite satisfied, I climbed over the low wall and scrambled over the rocks and boulders that lined the river bank to get a better angle. As I set up my equipment, sunlight began striking some of the rocks in the river and gave them a golden tone. My attention was immediately drawn to these rocks. To create the smooth look to the rushing water, I used an aperture f/32 which required a shutter speed of half a second. My ISO setting was 200. But, looking back now, I should have lowered the ISO to 100 to give me one second shutter speed, which would have smoothed the water even more.
