Every once in a while, I will revisit some of my older photographs to see if I can improve upon their post-processing. Sometimes, I like the results. Other times, I don’t. This picture is a case where I did like them. I’ve always liked this image of the sun rising over Lake Maumelle in central Arkansas. But as the years went by, I didn’t like how the background hill of trees was in deep shadow, especially since that wasn’t how I saw it when I was there. Using the Adobe Camera Raw filter in Photoshop, I lightened the hill, darkened the clouds, and added some color saturation to the sky to create an image more in line with what I saw while I was standing on the edge of the lake that morning.
