Autumn is one of my favorite seasons. The oppressive heat of summer has abated, but winter’s cold has not yet made its presence known. Autumn is also the season when the leaves change their color, and the landscape screams “Look at me!”
I noticed the scene above one Monday morning on my way out of town. The week was windy, and all I could do was hope the leaves would still be there when I got back. As I drove back on Thursday, I was pleased to see the trees had been able to hold their leaves for a few more days. The next morning I was up before the sun so I could find a good vantage point and get my shot. I found a location directly across from the trees, but this position did not allow me to capture the color that was reflected in the water. In order to get the image I had envisioned, I used the Photoshop plugin “Flood” by flamingpear. This plugin created a very realistic reflection that allowed me to create exactly the kind of image I had seen in my mind’s eye when I first encountered this scene.
